Emergency Minor Home Repair Program Application 

Before you apply

This program helps eligible homeowners with urgent minor repairs needed for health, safety, accessibility or continued safe occupancy of the home. Funding is limited and approval is not guaranteed. Do not start repairs before written approval. Approved payments are made directly to the contractor/company.

1. Program Eligibility Summary

Homeowner / primary residence - You must own the home and live in it as your primary residence in Renfrew County.

Income and assets - All household income and assets are reviewed. Total household assets must not exceed $50,000, subject to applicable exemptions.

Repair purpose - The repair must be urgent and connected to health, safety, accessibility or continued safe occupancy.

Funding limit - Up to $7,500 for eligible emergency repairs. Up to $10,000 total for approved accessibility repairs.

Once every five years - Assistance may only be issued once every five years.

Contractor and photos - One estimate from a licensed, insured and qualified contractor/company is required. Photos of the damage are required with the application and photos of the completed repair are required before payment.
